About Me

Right Now

As a North Carolina native, I am truly Tar Heel born and Tar Heel bred. I am currently an Honors Carolina junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am a student in the Hussman School of Journalism and Media studying Advertising and Public Relations as well as Hispanic Literatures and Cultures in the Romance Languages department and Composition, Rhetoric and Digital Literacy in the Department of English and Comparative Literature. While maintaining a 3.674 GPA, I also work as a Communications Intern for Innovate Carolina where I manage social media and write website content. For the Carolina Union Activities Board, I hold the position of Marketing Coordinator, developing social media strategy, planning creative marketing events and digitally designing flyers. I wish I could stay in Chapel Hill forever, but am set to graduate in 2021. However, I know I will always have a home in this Southern Part of Heaven.

Looking Toward the Future

I am primarily interested in entering the technology and software industry as a marketing professional, specifically for businesses within the software as a service model. I believe marketers are who truly capture consumer insights and drive business performance. Last summer I worked at a relatively new startup. Due to the size of the company, the marketing team was made up of less than five people. This meant that everyone had knowledge of various techniques and was active in all parts of the marketing pipeline. For the first few years after graduation, I hope to work in a similar environment in order to enhance my skills in various marketing types, like content marketing, inbound marketing, lead nurturing and more. I am most interested in digital marketing. I appreciate digital marketing techniques like search engine optimization, search engine marketing and pay-per-click advertising because it provides quantitative reasoning behind effective strategies. I see myself being successful in this field because I recognize the importance of audience research and am ready to learn more about how to use this information to create a company that grows with its consumers.
